not much new info… but here’s my latest eletter. cutting down to the wire now. thanks so much for your support!! if you’re praying for me specifically, i could really use prayer for FOCUS and for WILL. the smallest of things are distracting me from what i need to be doing. like just simply cleaning and packing are difficult to do right now. and it is stressing me out. thanks!
this came through an email from a co-worker today… just try it… freaky…
This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again. Try to see if you can outsmart your foot.
1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (because you might look weird……), sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number “6″ in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.
I told you so!!! And there’s nothing you can do about it!
You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are Going to try it again, if you’ve not already done so.
yeah… it freaked me out. i was able to do it for maybe 3 seconds before i lost focus. how did you do?

the more i think about my trip, the more excited i get. the nerves are fading and i am getting PUMPED!! i want to capture as many memories as i can so i have a request for you to help me to do just that.
although i have a digital camera for still-shots with plenty of disk space (1G), i want to be able to film and capture my own video. but alas, i don’t have a small, decent video camera. nor can i afford to buy even a crappy one.
i know this a BIG ask… but is there anyone out here who would be willing to loan me their video camera? or do you have friends with connections? perhaps you can repost about this?
even though having a video camera or not having one – won’t make or break my trip – i would appreciate any help i can get in hopes of getting one. to be able to capture in real-life motion, this opportunity i may never have again in my life… would be amazing.

I leave for South Africa next week. Next week. Holy cow. 9 days. Now is the time that I covet your prayers more than ever and ask that you rally with me. Even though I have definite peace about my going… I have lots of prep… lots of soul-searching… lots of work-related things to cover… and just A LOT going on in my head. But everything comes back to how excited… how nervous… how humbled I am to be a part of this mission. One could say I am a smorgasbord of emotions. SO please make yourself known if you are praying for this trip, the team and what God is going to do. I am going as far as to ask you to also post about this trip so others who may not know anything about this – would know and learn and hopefully begin to pray for our trip throughout the next week.
On the home front, God is moving in mighty, mighty ways… ways I can’t fathom. So I definitely can’t begin to fathom what He’s got planned in Africa.
