As Valentine’s Day approaches, many women will flock to their local theater to see Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to the widely popular film and erotic book series Fifty Shades of Grey. There is a significant irony about linking a holiday about love and romance with a film that glorifies the use of BDSM (bondage, dominance, sadism, masochism) through manipulation and coercion in a relationship.

While the Fifty Shades of Grey series is often categorized as a romance, it actually normalizes a very serious issue in today’s culture: sexual violence against women. Just like in mainstream pornography, the Fifty Shades of Grey series perpetuates the sexual exploitation of women.

Exhibiting at Like-Minded Events

We have the opportunity to exhibit at two different events later this summer and fall. The first is presented by Exodus Cry called the Abolition Summit taking place in Kansas City August 11-13, 2016. This event equips leaders and individuals to fight the injustices of human trafficking. Exhibiting will cost $300 plus the cost of printing materials to hand out. Ministry Year in Review

2015: A Year of Growth | 2016: A Year of New Vision

Between joining a gym and losing 30 pounds, I have taken some much needed strides in making my overall health a priority. I also entered the last year of my bachelor’s program at Liberty University and will complete my coursework in March. I am eager to be finished with this chapter and look forward to applying for grad school this spring. For the last 16 weeks, I have completed my senior psychology internship at Advice & Aid Pregnancy Centers. It has been such a blessing to get to serve these women and their unborn babies. Walking women through the hardest decision of their lives is so humbling. And being there to see these women choose life for their babies is witnessing a miracle every single time...

2015 Raffle Winners!

A total of 65 raffle tickets were purchased between November 4-December 3, 2015 from a total of 19 participants. A total of $1,270 was raised out of our $10,000 year-end goal. Thank you to everyone who participated. If you missed the raffle but would like to support our ministries, click here to make a tax-deductible donation. 

Each valid entry was placed in the drawing and the winners were selected at the closure of our raffle using Random.org. Prizes were drawn for grand prize first and then the subsequent prizes thereafter. One prize was awarded per winning participant. All participants are winners due to the # of participants and # of originally advertised prizes. Congratulations!
